Named after the date of its creation on the 1st April 1961, the 1461 shoe style has become iconic the world over.
This is the classic 3 eyelet shoe. The second style that Dr. Martens made. This unisex shoe was crafted for industry — and made rebellious by generations of non-conformists!
Today it’s worn as a symbol of durability and quality by individuals from all walks of life.
This 1461 shoe stays true to the original and features a hard wearing premium leather upper, classic 3 eyelet fastening and Dr. Martens durable welted construction, finished with Dr Martens ultra comfortable AirWair technology and slip-resistant sole.
Offered here in a slightly more narrow fit for a slim, tapered look.
The only difference to the classic is purely aesthetic, this product is internally stitched so has a plain (p) welt, making it arguably smarter for a more formal environment.
Built to last, this shoe is made using one of the finest methods of construction, the Goodyear Welt. This means the upper and sole are sewn together, not merely glued like many footwear constructions. Plain welt internal stitch combines with the heat-sealing process to make this a unique Dr. Martens product.
The original Dr. Martens air-cushioned sole, providing underfoot comfort and durability since 1960. It is oil and fat resistant, tough and offers good abrasion and slip resistance.
