Established in 1881 in Wollaston, Northamptonshire, Solovair (short for “Sole-of-Air”) is a heritage British footwear brand renowned for its handcrafted boots and shoes. Originally produced by the Northamptonshire Productive Society (NPS), a workers' cooperative of local shoemakers, Solovair gained prominence through its collaboration with Dr. Martens, manufacturing the iconic boots under license for 35 years.
Today, Solovair continues to produce durable, Goodyear-welted footwear in its original factory, utilizing traditional techniques and its signature Soft Suspension Sole for enhanced comfort and longevity.
